Linkin’ Park – What I’ve Done

There’s just absolutely no words that I can use to describe how awesome, how magnificent and how powerful Linkin’ Park’s new single ‘What I’ve Done’ from their latest album Minutes to Midnight. I was completely blown away the first time I heard it on radio (the video for the song isn’t that great, which is a shame really…should made full use of powerful images, like Phil Collins’ ‘Another Day in Paradise,’ to make their song more impactful) and it really captures the mood of today’s world, the way many people are probably feeling right now.

You can find the video on YouTube…almost every video can be found on YouTube, though I think we better enjoy it as much as we can before they start charging us.

Here’s the lyrics to the song:

Linkin Park – What I’ve Done (Minutes to Midnight)

In this farewell,
There’s no blood,
There’s no alibi.
‘Cause I’ve drawn regret,
From the truth,
Of a thousand lies.

So let mercy come,
And wash away…

 What I’ve Done.
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.

 Put to rest,
What you thought of me.
While I clean this slate,
With the hands,
Of uncertainty.

 So let mercy come,
And wash away…

What I’ve Done.
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.

 For What I’ve Done

 I’ll start again,
And whatever pain may come.
Today this ends,
I’m forgiving what I’ve done.

 I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.
What I’ve done.

 Forgiving What I’ve Done.

*Lyrics courtesy of www.metrolyrics.com but the boys from the band themselves came up with the lyrics of the song to remind us of the things that we’ve done wrong in this world, in our lives. Besides ‘Numb’, I would say this is their next powerful song, no matter what others say about the band, Linkin Park remains one of the few bands that I have high respect and admiration of.

  1. Pretty good huh? Maybe I’ll have to seek that one out. AFAIK I haven’t heard that one yet. I had a chance to see them in concert but missed it.😦 My local theatre was doing a concert simul-cast..LP on the big screen and in loud 5.1 stereo. Oh well, maybe next time.
